Kristen McClure ADHD and Mental Health Therapist

Thanks for stopping by. Let me tell you a little about me.

Expert ADHD Therapy for  Women

Are you a woman struggling with ADHD, AUDHD, and/or anxiety? You’re not alone; finding the right therapy and support can make all the difference. I specialize in helping women like you navigate these challenges with understanding, compassion, and practical strategies.

Tailored Support for Women with ADHD and Anxiety

My focus is on assisting women who face the unique challenges of ADHD and anxiety, often complicated by late diagnoses, learned masking behaviors, and burnout.

I offer direct therapeutic services backed by 30 years of professional experience if you're based in North or South Carolina. My approach is built on evidence-based techniques and a deep understanding of the societal obstacles women with ADHD face.

Understanding the Unique Challenges of ADHD in Women

Women with ADHD often find that conventional therapeutic approaches don’t address the root causes of their mental health challenges. My work is dedicated to helping you unmask your true self, recognize your inherent strengths, and build trust in yourself and your intuition.

The neurotypically designed world can be a significant source of anxiety and depression for women with ADHD or AUDHD, leading to the false belief that they are the problem. I aim to reframe this perspective, encouraging self-compassion, self-care, self-advocacy, and boundary-setting. Together, we can identify your values and strengths, empowering you to live with less stress by living authentically.

Empowering Your Journey

Navigating a world that often misjudges you can be challenging. Many of my clients work on letting go of the shame and unrealistic expectations they've absorbed from society. I’m here to remind you that you’re not alone. Recognizing how these societal pressures affect your mental health is an important step toward healing.

Unmasking and finding your authentic self is a key goal we work towards. This journey improves emotional wellness and enhances physical health. Our minds, bodies, behaviors, environments, relationships, and genetic makeup are interconnected. Unmasking can set off a positive cascade, leading to overall well-being.

Holistic and Compassionate Therapy

I initially focused on evidence-based practices like CBT and the medical model in my therapy practice. Over time, I realized that these methods often fall short in addressing women's unique needs. My approach has evolved to explore our relationships with ourselves, others, the present moment, our bodies, and our spiritual practices, including our bonds with pets and nature.

I believe in the importance of a supportive, equal, and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship. My goal is to empower women with ADHD to regain control of their lives, regardless of their circumstances.
